This particular client owns and operates a 15 MWatt steam turbine/generator which was being controlled by an obsolete PLC/5- an outdated system that runs a high risk of failure. After being contracted to perform a turnkey control system upgrade, Alliance designed and implemented a new system control to fix this problem. Alliance installed a Rockwall ControlLogix system and updated Bentley-Nevada machine protection systems.
Alliance’s teams designed, provided, and programmed the new ControlLogix system and then conducted the FAT testing at our facility with the clients and assisted during the installation/wiring of the new system. We then performed all pre-startup checks as well as the final startup and commissioning of the CoGen system.
